Where to Go
panel of pictures of Mull views
Loch Ba is another favourite. This is situated in the middle of the island (about 3 miles from Salen) and part of the Ben More estate. It is a good place to see eagles. You can get a bus to Salen and hire a bike there.
Loch Buie is a small village with a castle, beautiful black sand beach, standing stones and Ben Buie standing at 717 metres. It is approximately 14 miles from Craignure - you would need a high level of fitness to cycle there.
Ben More is Mull's only Munro at a height of 966 metres. It is about 14 miles from Salen to the start of the walk. For more information about climbing Ben More click here.
Gribun cliffs offer some of the most dramatic views on Mull. A lovely drive or take a picnic to the nearby beach at Loch Na Keal. It is about 21 miles from Salen - a serious cycle ride.
The Isle of Iona, famous for its abbey, lies off the south west of Mull. In addition to its important history it is also a beautiful island with lovely beaches. You can get there by bus from Tobermory to Craignure and then on to Fionnphort.
Uisken is another beautiful Mull beach approximately 3 miles from the village of Bunesan on the south west end of the island. It is about 9 miles from Fionnphort (click here for bus times) where you can hire bikes.
Tireragan is an estate on the southwest tip of Mull - an area of great conservation importance, managed by a local charity to regenerate woodlands and other habitats.

West coast road - this drive (or bike ride if you are super fit) offers the most stunning views, especially as the sun is setting. And look out for Lip-na-Cloiche - a beautiful garden that has been lovingly created by Lucy MacKenzie Panizzon.

These are just some suggestions for places to visit. We have plenty of books and maps that you can borrow when you stay at Sunart View to help you explore further.
